They go through several nannies, eventually settling for Debbie Jellinsky, who marries Uncle Fester. When Pubert is born into the family, problems arise because Wednesday and Pugsley have some sibling rivalry with their new little brother and constantly try to kill him. Pubert's voice was provided by Cheryl Chase. In the movie, Pubert was played by baby twin sisters Kaitlyn and Kristen Hooper, with puppets and animatronics used in scenes that would have harmed or killed a real baby. As a matter of fact, the first Addams Family movie did have a scene in the ending where Gomez is amazed to see his wife Morticia knitting a onesie with tentacles, which itself was based on one of the original New Yorker comics. Pubert made his debut in the movie Addams Family Values, a sequel to the original 1991 film. The censors didn't like the connotations of naming the boy of the Addams Family Pubert, so he was named Pugsley instead. Unfortunately, Pubert never really appeared a lot, but I am paying tribute to him anyway because I happen to be a completionist and, dad gum it, Pubert is one of the most adorable fictional babies I've ever seen.Ī fun fact is that Pubert was the original name Charles Addams, the guy who made the New Yorker comics that eventually became the television and movie family we know and love, picked for Pugsley when the 1960's show was in development. I've done my tributes to the different incarnations of Gomez, Uncle Fester, Morticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley, so now I will do a picture cataloging the different incarnations of the baby of the Addams Family, Pubert.
